On our way to Ørdal, heading toward the peaks of the Jotunheimen mountains in Norway, we passed through a long tunnel and suddenly, the landscape completely changed. We found ourselves in a wide, open highland meadow, with rolling green fields, a scattering of small lakes, and hundreds of cozy summer cabins tucked into the hills. Right at the entrance, a beautiful little church caught our eye — it turns out it was built in memory of an old church that once stood there. That moment marked the start of a truly special part of our journey. We stayed at Kyrkjestølen B&B, a quiet, nostalgic retreat that feels like it’s been waiting just for you. Everything about it was thoughtful and comforting ,a warm welcome from the young and friendly host, a peaceful atmosphere, and all the essentials for a restful night. The Norwegian breakfast ,with fresh bread and local cheese ,was simple, delicious, and somehow unforgettable. What made it even better was the view: wide, open landscapes that stayed with us long after we left. And if you’re up for a short adventure, you can hike up to two nearby peaks, each just a few hundred meters high, for a view that makes you feel like you’re on top of the world. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to return to ,or never leave.

Its such a nice experience and stay! Its really quite a norwegian countryside stay so do expect that but the rooms are very clean, the host most lovely and that just made the whole stay really pleasant even though we were just there for a night. However we learnt that they close during off season like winter time (and I think autumn too?) So just extra information for anyone who needs it :)
